The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

BBQ & Beacon Lighting – 8 -10pm
We will be holding a BBQ for all on the Village Green with accompanying music culminating in the nationwide lighting of the Beacon at 9.45pm. This will be lit by Steve Jacobs in remembrance of his father Alec who made the beacon for the village. The Scouts will be kindly running the BBQ and there will be teas/coffees and soft drinks. The White Horse will be providing plastic cups to anyone that wishes to purchase drinks & bring over to the green & will be serving Jubilee Cocktails.

Wear your Reds, Whites & Blues for this afternoon get together. The Treebilee Oak has now been planted and we will be adding the celebratory plaque to commemorate this special occasion.

The Big Jubilee Lunch.
Celebrate the last day of the Bank Holiday with your neighbours and get together for lunch in your street. Decorate your gardens in red, white and blue, put out the bunting, get out your deckchairs and share the afternoon with friends & neighbours.

We would very much welcome some volunteers to help with decoration and logistics of the BBQ & Picnic, so if anyone is willing to help, please let me know. We will also need help serving teas & coffees in the Pavilion for the Picnic.
Crafty Lasty is very kindly helping to make jubilee decorations for the green, but if anyone would like to assist, your help would be very welcome. It would be lovely to see some village made bunting and decorations on the green & the rec & we hope everyone will get involved, big & small.
If anyone is willing to make some jubilee cakes for the Pavilion, these too would be very much appreciated. All planned events are free and no profits will be made, so cake donations for all to share would be very much welcomed.

If you would like to help in any way, please contact Julie Durrant on 07505 363249
Thank you in anticipation and we very much look forward to seeing you all.
