Music in Felixstowe - February Newsletter

Hello,
We’re into February having had 2 memorable concerts in January.
The first with the Classic Strings was judged to be the best yet by some.
My daughter was listening to the Tchaikovsky outside and reckons she could hear the orchestra half way down the road!
The two performances of Mozart by candlelight were wonderful, and the visiting musicians both remarked how challenging and rewarding it was to have so many in the audience and in such close proximity!
I enclose details of our Spring/Summer series.
I was in a dilemma as to whether to continue having lost £3,000 last year on the concerts.
The major factors are the funding of the orchestra and publicity, but the audience for our January concert has given me hope and I shall continue for another season at least. I am having help with approaching companies for funding but it is an uphill struggle .
Please support the concerts when you can – we need you!
The next concert is on February 12th at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Old Felixstowe, and features the Ward Quartet led by my brother Nicholas Ward. He has had free rein over the programme, and has chosen to play 3 very different quartets by Beethoven. We will try to shed some background to Beethoven’s intriguing life experienced whilst writing the quartets.
Hope you’re keeping warm and safe in this icy weather,
Cheers - Hattie
