Saturday 16th August – Art Workshop Day at St. Ethelbert’s Church, Falkenham
All Day, Music Themed Art Workshops
Once again, Geraldine’s Popular “Music Themed Art Workshops” are coming to St. Ethelbert’s Church, Falkenham.
The Monthly workshops provide an opportunity to develop your personal interest as well as inspire you to try out new techniques and ideas. Painting “En Plein Air” is something most artists like to do and St. Ethelbert’s Church, Falkenham is just the place to settle down and have a go. There is the Church itself, inside and out, the River Deben view, woodland, fields and cottages, much to take in and explore.
If the weather is not to our liking, there is plenty of room in the Church to settle down with your paints/pencils etc. in a PEW and admire the wonder of St. Ethelbert’s. A brief history of the Church is provided and there is always the book on St. Ethelbert’s available in the Church to buy if you want to know more.
Geraldine brings along a “Small Shop” providing a selection of paint, brushes and paper etc. and a few books and tracings for those who would like a little help to start them off.
Music is played in the Church, tea/coffee and biscuits are supplied and there may be cake in the afternoon!
Bring a packed lunch and something to sit on for painting outside. If you don’t have an artists chair and easel, a folding garden chair and picnic table is ideal.
The day starts at 10 am with a short talk in the church, you can set up wherever you wish and even take the map and find somewhere just outside the Church, there are plenty of footpaths to explore. The day ends at 4pm and you can take your breaks when you need them.
Cost for the day is £15 or £25 for 2 if you would like to come with a friend or as a couple. Children are welcome but must be accompanied by a paying adult.
Please book at least 3 weeks before, sending your cheque with a stamped self addressed envelope for your ticket, map and advice for the day.
