Happy 10th Birthday – Friends Of Kirton Church

A 10th Birthday Festival is being held in and around Kirton Church on the 24th of July 11 a.m to 5 p.m to celebrate 10 successful years of the Friends.
Set up in 2000 as a Millennium project, the Friends have accomplished a great deal in caring for the fabric of our lovely Domesday church of St.Mary and St Martin.
The 24th of July will be a great occasion with many attractions to see and take part in.
Free entrance for all – so come, see and enjoy all that is on offer.
Exhibitions about the Church and Local History, in the church there will be magnificent flowers depicting An English Country Church, all arrangements by the talented ladies of the village.
The many exquisite vestments and frontals that are used in worship will be on display, designed by a former curate of the church, were made and embroidered by skilful local ladies. Also local schoolchildren will have an Exhibition of their work.
Traditional craftsmen will be at work. Felixstowe Vintage Prams will have a display. Come and chat to the Felixstowe Family History Group who will point you in the right direction into finding out about your ancestors.
Returning by popular demand Upfront Productions will have an exciting and entertaining Mummers Play which will be performed several times during the day.
Bring the family as there will be lots to interest the children –
Face painting, quizzes, a bug hunt, corn dolly and beeswax candle making and also a chance to play on the organ.
Light lunches, afternoon teas and other refreshments will be served in the church hall .
It is going to be great and interesting day so come along and Celebrate with us on the 24th July.
