May 2009 Annual Parish Council Meeting
05/06/09 16:31
At the Annual Parish Council Meeting, held on 11th May, Mr Michael Paul was re-elected Chairman, and Mr Brian Barker vice-Chairman. The various sub-committees were reconstituted, and ways in which they might act more effectively to improve the efficiency of the Council were discussed. The Annual Accounts, Return and Governance Statement were approved prior to submission to audit in July. A schedule of dates for future meetings was agreed. Councillors Jacobs and Cade gave a report on their attendance on a Seminar on Sustainable Rural Communities, and Councillor Jacobs reported on the Shoreline management conference. Work to restore the damage to the bus shelter had been largely completed. The 2nd review of the LGR was considered, and the Council agreed that its view remained unchanged from that submitted earlier, and the Clerk will respond accordingly. One Planning application and an application for work on a tree under a TPO, had been considered in the past 2 months. It was agreed to renew subscriptions to Suffolk Preservation Society and SALC. Following the recent visit of Eastern Angles, Mrs Sheila Cornford was able to forward to the Council a profit of £117.50. The Council is very grateful to her for organising the event, and an appropriate use of the money will be considered at the next meeting which is on 8th June.
