PARISH COUNCIL:
The October meeting was attended by 10 Parish Councillors, a County and a District Councillor, a police officer and 1 parishioner. The deaths of  2 former Parish Councillors, Michael Poole and George Haines were reported and noted with regret. The latter had served in recent memory and condolences were sent to Mrs Haines.
A lengthy discussion took place on the reported proposal for a business park off Innocence Lane, and the impact such development would have on Kirton in particular. As all the information had been gleaned from the press and second hand knowledge, a request would be sent to Bidwells seeking more details.

At the Annual Parish Council Meeting, held on 11th May, Mr Michael Paul was re-elected Chairman, and Mr Brian Barker vice-Chairman. The various sub-committees were reconstituted, and ways in which they might act more effectively to improve the efficiency of the Council were discussed. Read More...

The Parish Council meeting on the 9th February 2009 was attended by 7 Parish Councillors, the County and 2 District Councillors, a Police Officer and 4 parishioners.
Councillor Edwards vacancy having been advertised, and no election sought, the vacancy was open to co-option.  Councillor Mrs Hine had since resigned and her vacancy would now be advertised, making three vacancies in all. Mr I Cade of Gray’s Orchard and Mr G Christian of Rectory Lane were unanimously co-opted to fill 2 of the vacancies, and took office at the meeting. Read More...
