The January 2009 meeting was attended by 6 Parish Councillors, a District Councillor, a Police Officer and 2 parishioners. During Public Open Forum obstruction of Rectory Lane by vehicles was raised. The question of enforcement will be taken up with SCDC, but it should be taken up with the police at the time it occurs. The Council considered at some length, in discussion with R Kerry (DC), the recent publication of the consultation documents on SCDC Core Strategy as it affects the Parish. The document outlines applications that have been submitted as possible sites for development in Kirton & Falkenham. The proposals will form part of a “Roadshow” to be staged at Trimley Memorial Hall on 30th January between 3pm and 7pm. Councillors will endeavour to attend and it was agreed to hold an Extraordinary meeting of the Parish Council on 2nd February to discuss the proposals, and formulate, before the 20th February deadline, the Council’s response. It will be an open meeting and attempts to publicise the meeting will be made. Pc Mike Crisp attended the meeting, gave a report and introduced himself as the new SNT officer for the Parish. It was agreed that the May and November Police Tasking Meetings would be held in the Recreation Ground Pavilion. Mrs Wardner (PTLO) said she had had no responses from Parishioners about routing buses through the village. She will make another appeal. The council currently has 2 casual vacancies; that of Mr Edwards was being advertised from 2nd January. The Council ratified its decision in December to adopt a model Freedom of Information statement a model document was presented. A notice to this effect will be published. The council agreed to submit an application for a precept of £17,534 for the year 2009/10. The Council had considered 1 planning application in the past month.
