11/05/04 12:50
The 2004 May Annual Parish Council Meeting was attended by 9 Councillors, Mrs M Dixon (DC) and 1 parishioner.
Mr D Kemp was re-elected Chairman and Mr D[M?] Paul as Vice-Chairman. Appointments of Councillors to Finance & General Purposes, Recreation Ground, Planning and Environment committees were confirmed, together with representatives to SALC and Village Hall. Trustees of the Parish Charities were confirmed. Mrs J Barrell having retired as Public Transport Liaison Officer was warmly thanked by the Chairman and Councillors for all her efforts over 10 years. A REPLACEMENT IS URGENTLY NEEDED, ANY VOLUNTEER SHOULD CONTACT THE CLERK, PLEASE!
Dates for meetings during the next session were agreed as 6th September, 18th October, 29th November in 2004 and 10th January, 14th February, 21st March, 25th April (AM), 9th May (APCM) and 4th July in 2005 with the F&GP committee meeting on 15th November to consider the 2995/6 budget.
The Council agreed the accounts for the year ending 31st March 2004 and agreed Heelis and Lodge should be appointed Internal Auditor. A recycling credit of £11.48 has been received, together with the first instalment of the Precept. The Council agreed to renew its membership of SALC, and will in future obtain a copy of The Local Councillor for each member. The visit of Eastern Angles made a profit of £95.50. Regretfully Mrs Cornford finds she can no longer continue to organise this event, and the Parish is immensely indebted to her for arranging these visits over so many years. The Parish Council hope to be able to continue booking the productions. The Council has been advised that Hastoe are in discussions with the Nassau Trust about acquiring land on Trimley Road for an affordable housing provision. Kirton village has submitted an entry in the Village of the Year competition and judging was expected to take place during June. The litter pick organised by G Christian attracted 14 volunteers who collected a total of 30 bags of rubbish. A number of Councillors attended the Trimleys and Kirton Liaison meeting at which problems of mutual concern were discussed. The next meeting is on 5th July in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm.
