PARISH COUNCIL:
Prior to the October Parish Council meeting the Planning Committee met and considered responses concerning modification at Goseford Hall, a Solar panel installation in Stratton Hall, and an extension to a  bungalow on Falkenham Road.

May 2012 Annual Parish Council Meeting

PARISH COUNCIL: At the Annual Parish Council meeting on the 21st May, Derek Jacobs was re-elected Chairman, and Ian Cade the vice-Chairman.
A minutes silence was observed in memory of Mike Todd, a former Councillor and Chairman of the Council.
Having appointed the sub-committees for the year, the Council approved the Annual Accounts, the Annual Return and Governance Statement in preparation for the Internal Audit and the External Audit scheduled for 20th July.
Mrs Sheila Wardner tendered her resignation as Public Transport Officer; while she was urged to reconsider, seeing a replacement had not yet been found, she reported that she had someone in mind. She was warmly thanked for the exemplary way she had filled the post over so many years.
Mrs S Harvey (DC) reported that SCDC was considering introducing a collection of textiles to supplement the recycling collections. It was agreed to postpone fixing of dates for future meeting until the next meeting.
Concerns were raised about reports that the programme for the off-shore cable routing had been changed and that the cable trenches could be left open for 2-3 years. Clarification on this will be sought.
Further information will be sought on the proposals on refinancing of street lighting.
Final arrangements and financial approval for the erection and lighting of the Jubilee Beacon and Barbecue were agreed.
A response had been prepared to the HealthWatch consultation and disappointment registered about the transfer of the MIU to Ipswich Hospital.
The Annual report from Dr Therese Coffey (MP) had been circulated to Councillors and copies are available for any parishioner who wants one. Notices had been posted advertising her visit to Trimley with Kirton Ward on 22 June.
A steering committee had been formed, comprising adjacent parishes, to monitor the Innocence Lane port expansion proposals.
The Council will be preparing a letter of support to the Early Day Motion designed to give parishes and communities equal powers over planning appeals as those enjoyed by developers.
A response to the SCDC Housing Provision Scrutiny Survey has been submitted.
The floors in the RG Pavilion have been cleaned and 2 changing rooms are due for re-decoration. Maintenance of some of the Play Area equipment is in hand, and it is hoped that the Zip Wire and exercise equipment will be installed by the early summer.
The next meeting of the Council is scheduled for 25 June, the meeting in July will be on a date yet to be agreed.
