In November we hold our Annual General Meeting when we look back on the past year and confirm people in the offices for the next twelve months. OCTOBER MEETING REPORT
Members were joined at this meeting by WI members from Felixtowe morning, Brackenbury, Bucklesham and Nacton as our branch was celebrating its 88th Birthday.
Representatives from other local clubs and organisations had also been invited, and all 42 ladies present watched Pam Dickerson cut the birthday cake, and wish the branch well for the future.

Towards the end of July, we were invited to a strawberry tea in the garden of our president, Mrs Iris Hitchen.
On the 13th of August Maddy Rhodes organized a coach to take us to Bury St Edmunds.

July 2009 – All Change

At our July meeting the watchword was ‘All Change’. Mrs May Copping, our vice-president,chaired the meeting. Also the speaker, Mrs Buckles, who had been booked to demonstrate flower arranging, was unwell so could not come. Four Weddings and a Funeral was the subject Mrs Jane Parker came to speak to us about at our June meeting. Mrs Parker is a registrar and works for the Suffolk Registration service which concerns itself with the births, marriages and deaths in the area. Read More...

On May 14th Kirton and Falkenham W.I. gathered at the Village Hall about an hour and a half earlier than usual in order to partake of a fish and chip lunch before our resolutions meeting.
The wording of this resolution ran as follows:-
‘SOS for Honey Bees – Honey Bees play a vital role in the pollination of food crops and in our environment. In view of concerns about the accelerating decline in the UK honey bee population, this meeting urges HM Government to increase funding for research into bee health.’ Read More...

Mrs Jane Leffler, wife of the well-loved Trimley rector (now retired), gallantly filled the breach caused by a last minute speaker cancellation. We were by no means the losers by the exchange as she gave us a fascinating account of her very full and interesting life.
