Kirton and Falkenham Womens’ Institute
We had a wonderful meeting in March to celebrate our 102nd birthday. We invited other local WI’s, as is the custom, and also representatives from village groups. With more people than usual we took advantage of the larger Church Hall. Our speaker was David Webb – one of the twins from the sitcom Hi-de-Hi! He talked about his career from the first talent shows with his brother to performing at the Royal Variety Performance, and his years with Hi-de-Hi! His presentation was peppered with amusing anecdotes and videos; he then serenaded us with several songs from the musicals. Finally he paid tribute to those fellow stars who are no longer with us. David is an excellent speaker who provided some great entertainment, on our birthday.
